5-year-old Harutyun comes from the Armenian village of Martuni, located in the Gegharkunik region. He lives with his parents and sister Diana. Harutyun is a reserved boy, but when he is around well-known children, he is more lively. Unfortunately, he wasn’t that entertaining during our interview. Just answered yes and no. He plays with his sister. Both children are thankfully healthy. Harutyun dreams of one day having a toy tractor.
Harutyun’s family consists of four people – parents and two children. The father Armen earns some money for the family as a border soldier. He was also in the Artsakh war and miraculously came home safely. The family had not heard from him for over 20 days. He and his comrades were blocked for days before help came. At present he continues to work as a border guard and stays at the post 15 days a month. The family rents a house in the village, so he uses his salary to pay for the rent as well as any costs that arise. However, he should look after himself during the 15 days at the border post and pay his own costs, for example for food. His wife Armine is a housewife, meanwhile she takes care of the adjacent vegetable garden and the children. Since the water supply in the village is not properly organized, drinking water is only drawn by the hour. Sometimes the water is taken from the spring and collected in all sorts of containers. Harutyun’s sister Diana is 3 years old.
Harutyun’s parents would be very happy to receive help in the form of monthly groceries. So you could save some money. As a sponsored child, Harutyun will receive extensive and vitamin-rich food every month, and as a sponsored child, medical and dental assistance will be freely available to him. This support will mean a great deal of joy and relief to his parents. We thank you in advance for your care and wish you God’s blessings!
