Christmas Campaign

A girl is sitting on a bed, wrapped in a blanket, a little boy, also wearing a blanket, is lying with his head on her lap. Both are smiling at the camera.

In Armenia and Romania it gets a lot colder in the winter months than in our latitudes. Therefore worrying about a warm room, enough food and appropriate clothing is more than justified. We help with our annual Christmas campaign!

Thank you!

Last year we introduced the family of Arusjak Kschojan (34). Thanks to your help we were able to provide them with enough fuel, food, warm clothing, winter boots and warm blankets for the winter. Unfortunately, the husband and father left the family. As a result, Arusjak had to move with her children Shenja (14), Gor (12) and Maksim (6). The four now live in the village of Maralik in the Shirak region. This was very difficult for the children and Arusjak is almost alone with his worries. They are all the more grateful for the gifts. “Thanks to the help, I don’t have to go into debt to get my children through the winter,” says Arusjak with relief.

I would like to express my gratitude to AMRO for supporting me and my family. For about two years now, my children and I have been able to cope better with the difficulties. Not only the problems in everyday life, but we are also better psychologically. Food, clothing, heating materials, winter shoes… we get everything we need, which gives us joy and hope for the future. I hope that my family will get out of this situation in the near future, thanks to your long-term help. Thank you from me and my children. I wish you good health, God bless you all.

More Families need Help

A family of five sits on a sofa

The Harutyunyan family lives in the village of Ajgut in the Gegharkunik district. Hovhannes, the father of the family, is 35 years old. He took part in the 44-day war between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan in autumn 2020. There he suffered a head injury and permanent damage. He can no longer do heavy work. His wife Emma is 28 years old. She looks after the children and runs the household. Daughter Rusanna is eight years old. She is in the 3rd grade. Rusanna wants to be a painter. Son Valery is six years old. He is in the 1st grade. Little son Monte is one year old. Hovhannes’ parents also live in the family.

We would like to provide this and other families with everything they need to get through the winter healthy. The children should be given warm jackets and shoes so that they can attend school regularly even in the cold season.

Please help us to support as many families as possible in this way!

The Christmas Campaign for Casa Ray

Children, teenagers and adults standing in a group on an ice rink

2024 was a fulfilling year for Casa Ray. With God’s help, the team managed to show the children some of the unique places in Romania. These included the capital Bucharest, as well as the Black Sea and the Carpathian Mountains. On the other hand, not least because of several new arrivals, they had to fight some illnesses, from various infectious diseases to parasitic infestations of various kinds. The worst is now over here. In addition, there were the everyday physical and mental problems of the children and young people.

In July 2024, the minimum wage was raised again. This poses major problems, especially for organisations which rely on donations. The employees, on the other hand, hardly benefit from it, as the increase in the minimum wage has also led to prices rising. The price of oil has increased by around 60% and that of flour by around 120%. To supply Casa Ray with firewood for a month, we need around 574 euros.

Please help, so that the children at Casa Ray can spend a contemplative Christmas in warm rooms, with good food and a small present for each child. Thank you for your support!

The current flyer (in German) for the Christmas campaign can be downloaded here.

Thank you very much for your help!
