How will my donations be used?
Most of your donations benefit the people or projects for which they were donated. The administrative costs are between zero and 28 percent. Special donations for sponsored children will be forwarded without any deductions; 72 percent of all other donations (82 percent of donations over 5.000 euros) are currently transferred to the respective country for the desired project. However, the administrative costs are usually lower, so that any remaining amounts can be transferred to the countries at the end of each year. The average administrative costs are around 25 percent. As an organisation certified by Deutscher Spendenrat , we are committed to transparency in the use of donations and to restrict administrative costs.
Can I also donate if I do not live in Germany?
We would be very grateful for your support. However, please note that as an association registered in Germany, it is not possible for us to issue a donation receipt that is valid in your country.
Online Donations
What fees will be withheld from my online donation?
For donations made via credit card, between 3 and 10% are retained, via PayPal 0.35 Euros plus 1.5%. Donations via direct debit will be transferred to us without any deductions.
Can I also pay my monthly sponsorship fees by donating online?
As a rule, sponsorship contributions are booked through a special account, but the online donations go to our general donation account. However, if it is easier or cheaper for you, you are welcome to use this option. Please use our general donation form, select the option “monthly” and enter the name and ID number of your sponsored child under “I would like to support the following project”.
How can I change or cancel my regular donation?
In the confirmation e-mail for your donation there is a link under “Changes” which you should follow. There you will be redirected to a page on which you can request a link to your donor data. This intermediate step is necessary to protect your data from unauthorized access. The link sent will take you to the page where you can change your data or cancel the donation.
